NO. It’s not. ‘Herbivore’, in the English language (UK because there’s no such thing as ‘American English’) is pronounced with the H intact. It is not raped and left castrated without its initial letter except by idiots who suffer from extreme cases of hyperforeignisation. ‘Herb’ is not an exclusively French word: it is derived from the latin herba, and should be subsequently anglicised to ‘HERB’. To put it another way, if you pronounce the ‘H’ in ‘hotel’, then you should pronounce it in ‘Herb’.

Actually, in America (which DOES have it’s own brand of English…. as you can tell by checking the number of vowels in certain words, or looking up the definitoon of “jumper” or “bonnet”), it IS “an herbivore,” not, “a herbivore.”
No. The continued degradation of the English language infuriates me endlessly. And for someone to try to correct the English pronunciation of a word and moreover to refer to the American version as the “primary language” is enough to bring my piss to a boil.
